Kakumeiki Valvrave First Impression

Kakumeiki Valvrave First Impression

Episodes Watched: 1&2, Subber used: [gg]

MAN I SWEAR, I DON'T CARE IF THIS HAS SPOILERS OR IF IT ISNT IN A CORRECT STRUCTURE ANYMORE.

Ok so I don't watch many Mecha Anime Series, but if all of them are like Valvrave then I have missed out on one of the most amazing things in my life. At first I was like “a space mecha anime where humans don't live on earth anymore, people are at wall, whatever” BUT NO. this really blew me away from the start. As the kids came into the sphere an started killing people all over the place, that's when it was getting good. But my favourite part had to be when he went aggro on Shouko’s death. THAT'S WHAT A ACTION ANIME IS ABOUT, STRONG EMOTIONS FOR THE PERSON YOU LOVE, HE WENT FULL OUT EPIC BADASS TO AVENGE HER!! That's REAL love I tell you. And when it was all over her gets stabbed in the heart and shot twice in the chest, BUT NO he gets the fuck up BITES THE GUY and steals his body, that shit is badass I say, BADASS.

Anyway I have had my fun and im pretty much done, now to get into a serious….. What ever these things that I do are. So like I said it starts out with a typical space mecha feeling but then it gets full on with the killing, the story develops so that it gets better and you can get more leaned over into it than before. I like how the story developed at the start no matter how brief it was. The characters are of course a little bit weird and confusing at times, but all in all they are pretty well done. The protagonist Haruto is a bit of an unreliable wimp but when he is driven by his emotions all shit breaks loose and he becomes a badass. His character design reminds me of the Yuusha from “Maoyuusha” lol.

About the art, what I really like and from what I can tell, in mecha anime they can go 3 ways, the first is that the character design and ground animations are done, and the mechas are done with the same art style and animation. The second is that its all about the mecha and when this happens it ends up effecting the ground art and characters. The third and most preferred one for me is when the ground art and character art is done a great normal way, and the mecha fights are done amazingly and don't make the ground art get effected for the worst. Kakumeiki Valvrave’s art is like the third, the ground and character art is done in a modern anime style art work and the mecha scenes are EPIC BATTLES FULL OF EFFECTS AND COLOURS THAT IS PURE AWESOME. But when the mechas land and they must make contact with the ground art, it doesn't at all seem disfigured, In fact it looks good.

Personal Note: I don't feel like I need to have one anymore. But… WHY DIDN'T HE TELL HER HOW HE FELT,  I understand the whole “I am a bakemono, I have no feelings” is a really cool line but cmon the ANTICIPATION!!!

Rating: so far…… 9.5 out of 10
